AI for weekly reports, monthly reports and year-end summaries

You do not have to write a weekly report from scratch: these six AI writing assistants are free to start with, and five of them are recorded with a free tier. Below is the five-part structure and a copyable prompt; month-end and year-end versions only need a few changed lines.

Tools you can use

The template is a general structure, not any company's form. Check numbers and names yourself; the AI does not vouch for them.

How to choose

  • Just this week: use DeepSeek or Wenxiaobai, paste your rough notes and ask it to fill the template; the free allowance is usually enough.
  • A company template: open the template in WPS or Evernote first, then ask the AI to rewrite into it; left alone, it will invent its own format.
  • Year-end and long documents: feed one theme at a time; a single huge paste gets truncated, and you still have to check every number and name.

Five-part template + copyable prompt

Five parts: what was done (3–5 items with results) → problems (1–2 with impact) → next week (3 items by priority) → coordination needed (optional) → one-line summary.

Copyable:

You are my weekly-report assistant. Write this week's report in five parts: 1) 3-5 completed items with what was done and the result; 2) 1-2 problems and their impact; 3) three next-week items by priority; 4) coordination needed; 5) one-line summary. Source: <paste your notes>. Do not invent numbers; write “TBD” when missing; keep it under 300 words.

Month-end / year-end: replace “this week” with “this month / the year”, add “target vs actual” at the top and three priorities at the end.
