Free AI image generators you can use online

You can start drawing online without installing anything: these eight tools open in a browser, and four of them are recorded with a free tier. We picked them from 1,501 entries by three questions: can you open it directly, does it cost anything, and is the site filed in China. Every link goes to the tool's own site.

“Free tier” means the entry records a pricing page or description that states it; for the others, check each site's current terms. We did not get per-site image counts or resolution, so we do not print them.

How to choose

• One-off test: start with the ones marked “Free tier” (Gaoding AI, Bige Design, Recraft AI, Exactly.ai) and decide after the free allowance runs out.
• Commercial use: read the site's own terms and licence. “ICP filing” only means the company is registered in China; it is not a commercial image licence.
• Chinese prompts: prefer the six with a Chinese UI; the two overseas tools need your own network setup and have English interfaces.

Prompt templates

• Portrait: a young woman in a beige sweater, natural window light, shallow depth of field, film grain, 4:3.
• Landscape: a misty valley after rain, a wooden cabin in the distance, early side light, wide angle, realistic photo.
• Product: a ceramic coffee cup on a white background, soft top light, product photography, clean negative space.

These are generic prompt templates, not a tool's official recommendation; swap in your own subject.
