Free AI tools to practise English speaking
There is no dedicated English-speaking coach in our catalogue. These six assistants support voice or chat and can act as a speaking partner, plus one language-learning tool. Every link goes to the tool's own site.
Tools you can use
These are general chat assistants, not an official speaking-exam score. For scores, use the official test.
How to choose
- Just start talking: use a voice-capable assistant (Doubao, iFlytek Spark) and ask it to question you in English.
- Pronunciation feedback: record your own reading and ask the AI to compare stress and linking; treat it as a reference, not an exam score.
- Interviews and IELTS: use the scenario prompts below for ten minutes a day; do not memorise answers.
Three scenario prompts + a pronunciation loop
- Interview: “Act as an interviewer for a [role]. Ask me one question at a time in English, wait for my answer, then give one correction and one follow-up.”
- IELTS: “Ask me IELTS Part 2 questions. Give me one minute to prepare, then let me speak for two minutes; afterwards list three grammar fixes.”
- Travel: “Role-play a hotel check-in dialogue; correct my pronunciation of numbers and dates.”
Pronunciation loop: read 50 words, ask the AI to mark stress and linking, shadow it three times, record again and compare.
