AI resumes: free tools and how to improve one

A resume is not about looking good; it is about matching the role. Pick a target job, paste the JD, and let AI rewrite your experience around its keywords.

Tools you can use

AI rewrites; it does not invent experience. Education, dates and employers must stay true — interviews check them.

How to choose

  • From scratch: Zhijian Resume or Bufan Resume; pick a template and fill it in.
  • Improve an existing one: Zhitu Resume or Wondercv; align keywords and wording to the JD.
  • Interview prep: AskCc; prepare answers from your own experience, not generic scripts.

A JD-alignment prompt + three checks

You are my resume editor. Target JD: <paste>. My resume: <paste>. Rewrite each bullet around the JD keywords, keep the real responsibilities; use “did X + result number”; remove filler adjectives; do not change education, dates or employers; keep it to one page and list the words you changed.
  • One page: one page for juniors and up to three years, two at most.
  • Keywords: repeat the JD terms you have actually done.
  • Numbers: quantify results; if you lack a number, give a range — never invent one.
